I lived through the riots on the Westside of Chicago in the 60s on two occassions. Once when a firetruck ladder killed a woman and after the assasination of Dr. Martin Luther King. Then also there was the Watts Riots, in L.A. This is history repeating itself and at that time there was no Black President, no Black Attorney General and much, much smaller precentage of Black policemen or minorities in power and the RACISM was much more in the open. Just like in Chicago, what you see in Ferguson, is a communities reaction to a much deeper thang, then murder. But, frustration of being unemployed with little hope of seeing things change, along with how their police dept. has treated them. Nowadays, it dont have to be white police, but it it could be police of any colors. Now lets be real, in Ferguson you still got your thugs and bad people who victimize the community as well. So, the police do serve a purpose in keeping some law order. I dont care where you live, when you have widespread social unrest the STATE is going to act in a way to repress it. To further, muddy these waters you got certain elements, some outsiders coming in and esclating and provoking the police as well. You aint seen nothing yet, youngblood. Unitl, you really witness the National Guard comin into the HOOD, to restore their definition of LAW & ORDER! If you think the Powers at be is going to stand by and let people riot & loot & shoot at them. Then that is simply, idealistic! MARTIAL LAW will be enforced, if need be in Ferguson, but it has not gotten there yet. Take it from someone who has witnessed and lived it! This SHIT is mild in comparison to what went down in the 60s with dogs, church burnings, hangins, casterations, Nationa Guard & Police overeactions and in some cases killings. Even then, you had people with bad intentions on both sides. IF A PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THEIR PAST, THEY ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT! Google it!
