TOPS & TROUSERS MONTH- I like the way you wear your hair, & I like those stylish clothes you wear. IMO, this & Wrecks & Effects New Jack Swing, stood out among many great Teddy Riley produced jams. It was weird ,with this joint Riley seemed to smooth things out ,but at the same time still gave you a powerful bass line, riding on top of just slightly less jagged drums. I remember my younger brother Brett & I playing the bridge in the car, over & over......extremely hard hitting. Its also very strange.....how music attaches itself to moments. When this was released ,I was just breaking up with someone after an 8 year relationship......it took me right back to 1988...& all those feelings. Like emotional fingerprints all over the music.
