TOUCHING!! A man was travelling with his twins kids under five. They had been on the train for several days. The kids became restless, crying and disturbing the sleepy passengers on board the coach. All the passengers were angry with the man who seemed to care less about the children’s behaviour. One woman gathered the courage and went to this man and said to him: “Don’t you care that your children are disturbing everybody in the coach? Are you such an irresponsible father?” The man with tears in eyes and voice said to the woman: “You don’t understand. These children have lost their mother three days ago. I have no money to take the body from the hospital and to bury her. These children have not eaten for two solid days except for water and a finger of banana each. I have no money to even buy them food. They are hungry, sad, tired and miserable. You don’t understand.” The angry woman suddenly broke down into tears. There was a paradigm change. All passengers on board the coach shed tears for the family. Each passenger made a contribution that was enough to send the man back to bury his wife. In the same vein, we don’t understand why children in poor places should have no place to go to school, when children here are fed in school. We don’t understand why people are dying of malaria when even cancer can be cured somewhere. We don’t understand why a mother should die when delivering a baby, when children are born and laid in special colts in your home. One day when Jesus will say to some of us ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:34-40
