TOXIC SUBSTANCES IN FAMOUS BRANDS An investigation from Greenpeace has revealed that Brands like Nike, Adidas and Pumas contains dangerous chemists that affect human health and environment. Results of the investigation indicate presence of harmful substances, even, superior quantities to the limit allowed for the own companies politics. “Between the harmful compounds they were perfluorados (PFC), nonilfenol etoxilado (NPE), ftalatos and dimetilformamida (DMF), which affect the environment, they can enter in the food chain and some of them could cause cancer, alter the hormonal system and be toxic for the reproduction; DMF inclusive can be absorbed for the skin”, explained Manfred Santen, from Greenpeace Germany. Though in 2011, Adidas and Nike had compromised with Greenpeace to leave using countains dangerous in their production chains to arrive in the year 2020 with zero downloads of harmful substances in the rivers around the world, they didn’t expire their promise. On the other hand, their articles contain the highest levels. Only Puma has started actions to obtain it, though still miss too much to do. Nevertheless, there are a campaign that is powered by more than half of million people, demanding toxic-free fashion and clean water. The name of this campaign is DETOX. And there are many brands working in thes campaign, for instance, H&M, C&A, Zara, Mango, Levis, Victorias Secret and Burberry. Everybody has a part in the construction of the future without substances for the children. If we act together, sport fans, famous people, athlete people and all the clients can press to the brands for the elimination of the dangerous articles.
