< TRADITIONS AND PROGRAMMED BEHAVIOR VERSUS PERSONAL BELIEVES AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS > : ( via Tracye ONeal ) : Jeff Rosenberg : Shouldnt traditions that involve violence and tremendous cruelty be questioned? Actually, shouldnt EVERYTHING be questioned? If we are really honest with ourselves, how much of what we do in life is REALLY in line with what we believe, as compared to behavior that was basically programmed into us a young age, before we had the wisdom and self-analytical skills that we have today? Sometimes its tough to differentiate between the two. Other times, its not... it just takes a little thought. “And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small café in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything.” ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
