TRAFFIC POLICE WAIVES PENALTIES DEVOID OF AUTHORITY This is to bring to your kind notice that CPIO cum DSP Traffic Police UT vide his Memo no.49 dated 19.08.2013 along with other information supplied me following details regarding waiving of penalty in case of sticker challans: 1. During Dec.2012 total 444 stickers were cancelled, D/Make, filed, dropped by Senior Officers during the month 2. During March 2013 total 108 stickers were cancelled, D/Make, filed, dropped by Senior Officers during the month 3. And in May 2013 total 379 stickers were cancelled, D/Make, filed, dropped by Senior Officers during the month When on 21st August 2013 I asked for details of officers and any order which authorises them to waive such penalties. DSP Traffic vide his Memo dated 19th Sep.2013 informed me that “ NO Officer is Authorized to waive penalty under Traffic Challans/Traffic Stickers As such during the period from Dec.2012 to May 2013 total 931 challans have been filed .As this data belongs to few months only .this might have happened earlier also. Under the circumstances it becomes a matter of enquiry to find who have taken the un authorized action in waiving the penalty in Traffic Challans/Stickers and how much loss has been incurred during the last years.
