Joshua Everson - My Story The Only Difference Between Fat and Fit is I. January 8th 2014 – This was the day I got one of the biggest wake up calls of my life. A visit to the doctor and having to be tested for Diabetes gave me a major shock. I weighed in at 135.8kg. An underactive thyroid and a love of takeaways and chocolate had led to me being in this dangerous situation. I decided that it was my final year of high school and I needed to make a big change in my life. The next week I joined Snap Fitness and also taught myself about calorie intake. For the first 3 months I went to the gym at 3 or 4am, as I was so self-conscious of my size. In April I met Ashley Mullen, one of the personal trainers at Snap Fitness. He has been an awesome mentor to me in the past 6 months. Since January I have been going to the gym 6-7 times a week and with the help of Ash as my personal trainer I have managed to lose 50kg. As at November the 5th. I am at my goal weight of 85kg and this has changed my life. I feel confident in myself and feel ready to face the world. My future will certainly include a membership at Snap Fitness wherever my life takes me. I am really grateful for the support of all the staff that have encouraged me to reach my goals. It has been life changing for me especially as I only thought fit and skinny people could join gyms. I challenge everyone to step outside their comfort zone and do it for themselves.
