TRANSPLANT update.... Well now begins the waiting game as I wait.....and wait....this is typical in these situations...Im back home after eating a wonderful last meal before surgery at my fav Indian Restaurant Zaikas as my Transplant Coordinator called me and said that we are still waiting for news....I want to be sensitive here to the donar family (who I will never know of course) and to the whole situatioin but as the donar has not yet passed then I must wait....the organs will also be flown in from another hospital to MGH so that takes time as well....and then when I go it it still takes many hours before the surgery is done due to last minute testing, scans, tissue typing, massive blood work./labs etc etc....when all that is complete and everything looks good, then surgery happens and can take 3 to 5 hours...after that I will be in isolation for about a week and prayers begin for that so that my body wont reject the organs. There is alwyas the huge risk of rejection especially during the first two years after transplant so I covet and beg for your continued support and prayers AFTER transplant as well....just because I get a transplant does not mean I am WELL and that all is well and no more worries....it just means a different set of problems and issues and concerns and worries! BUT things should be better :) So now I sit and wait.....I hate waiting! I am not known for my longsuffering patience! LOL Im a lets get it done now kind of person! ha ha :) Anyways...God IS in control of this situation and I praise hIm for it...I am going from the God YOU said....(quote a Bible promise) to God YOU DID.....! AMEN!!
