TREE OF LIFE VERSUS THE TREE OF DEATH PART 3 John 1:1-14 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. /// in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. This goes back to the beginning in genesis. We know that Jesus Christ is the word of God see 1 john 5:7, clearly if the word was God then that means Jesus Christ is God, what we see is basically God got off his throne and came here to show us how to live. He gave his life up for us that we might have life and have it more abundantly. To as many as believe ON him to them he gave power to be called the sons OF God born of HIS will according to the spirit. /// Deuteronomy 30:14-16 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. 15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 16 in that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. /// draw nigh unto God and he will draw nigh unto you. He sets before you the path of life and death. To love the lord is to walk in his ways, TO LOVE HIM and keep his commandments that you may live!. /// Deuteronomy 30:19-20 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20 that thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. /// only those who are willing AND obedient will inherit the kingdom of God. He is our life. its one thing to be just obedient and go through the motions, but he asks of us so much more than that. obedience alone is not enough, we must be WILLING AND OBEDIENT, and that willingness comes from the heart. from the Love that we have to him our desire to obey means so much more because it comes from the heart! /// John 15:10-11 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 1 John 3:16-24 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. /// Love is the key! /// 1 John 5:1-4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. /// the Love comes first! again Love is the key to keeping his commandments! /// 2 John 1:6-11 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. /// many people like to tell everyone they meet God speed, or God bless but in truth saying such things are not appropriate to be thrown around carelessly, we truly have to be mindful of the things we say, the last thing we want to do is partake of someones evil deeds. unless that person is brethren and you know their heart and they do LOVE THE LORD FIRST AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AS A RESULT OF THAT LOVE, then saying such things are not appropriate. /// Revelation 21:6-7 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. /// Amen!! /// Revelation 22:14-17 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. /// Those who DO his commandments and hearken to the voice of the Lord have the right to the tree of life which is Jesus Christ.
