TRIBUTE TO MY BROTHER Alexander Achigbu AS HE BEGINS HIS FINAL JOURNEY HOME TODAY. My brother Alex Emex is gone. A voice we love is still. A place is vacant in our hearts which no one else can fill. After our lonely heartaches and our silent tears, If i could have a lifetime wish A dream that would come true, I would pray to God with all my heart For a yesterday and you. A thousand words can’t bring you back, We know, because we tried; And neither will a million tears, We know, because we cried. You left behind our broken hearts And happy memories too. But we never wanted memories, We only wanted you. The blow was hard, the shock severe; We never dreamed of your death so near. But only those who love can tell The pain of parting without farewell. God give us strength to face this blow, What it meant losing you, most people will never know You were the light and rallying point of the Achigbu’s A husband to your mother, a father to your brothers A colossus to your wife, a pillar to your kids, a motivator to us all. Chei death why? Why our Alex?? To hear your voice, to see your smile,to watch you play your usual pranks To sit and talk with you awhile; To be together in the same old way Would be my dearest wish today. But loving memories never die As years roll on and days go by; In my heart a memory is kept Of the one i love and will never forget. Sometimes God picks the flower that is still in full bloom; Sometimes the rosebud’s chosen, we feel He’s picked too soon. Sometimes the flower is fading with petals floating down, But God knows the perfect time to gather flowers from the ground. There is a heavenly garden in which God takes great pleasure Because He’s placed within it the loved ones that we treasure. He walks among the blossoms giving them eternal rest, And I know that it must please Him Because He chose our very best. I will always remember you by all the good things you have done, if only heaven tarried a little longer But who are my to question the decision of the father? Just like David mourned Jonathan I mourn you today but I take solace in the good things you stood for. I will always have beautiful memories of Alexander Achigbu, a brother i loved so dear. No more you to call me Ekechi Nwanne Mmadu, I will miss seeing your big head around. Nwoke kaa nwanyi mma, Oyirinneya, my big brother and friend. Thank you for all u thought me Till when next wee see. Laa Nke’oma Rest from thy love employ. DJ You have ridden with men. Now its time to ride with the lord in heaven . The battle is fought, the victory won. Go take your place alongside our father in heaven devoid of all the wickedness and sorrow on earth. Enter thy Master’s joy.
