TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER IN LAW: My father in law has days to live according to the Doctors. God bless him. Don Julio as I call him has truly been blessed with 90 wonderful years of life. Despite his rough beginnings in his young early years he overcame every obstacle imaginable. He was an orphan at a very young age but fought and found his way in this world where he became a very successful business owner here in Philadelphia. He married a sweet wonderful kind hearted woman who would die of cancer before the age of 50. He raised 7 boys the best way he knew how. He experienced a lot of pain & suffering at the loss of two of his sons. He was recently diagnosed with lung cancer of which didnt shake or move him a bit. Despite all this man has gone through I never heard him once ask the question why me?? Or did I ever see him depressed or angry. I have had the pleasure of knowing him one third of his life and for this I am extremely grateful to God. He is honestly one of the strongest people I know. Hes such a jokester and always has us and everyone laughing. Everytime someone would come into his grocery store he would sneak up on them and scare them just to make them laugh. I love that about him. Something I will never forget is how he always had a sandwich waiting for us when wed come to visit him at the store. We werent even in the store completely when he was already asking us un sandwichito?? which meant a little sandwich? Tears, tears. He took such pleasure & joy in making us a sandwich and made it to perfection. I will forever remember that. And last but not least, I will never forget his love for dancing. Dude CAN dance. His love for dancing was incredible and boy could he dance. He danced just until the other day not long ago. And the coolest thing ever and which makes God so cool and good is that my husband always had a desire for his dad to see him play up on stage. His dad (hard to believe) never saw him play with a band in the 40+ years that my husband has been playing. So just recently and FINALLY he accepted my husbands invitation to a gig where we also celebrated his 90th birthday. Well, he danced the night away. He danced until he could dance no more. How cool is it that that would be his last time on the dance floor and that Robert would be the one playing to the music. And for sure that would be his last dance. Wow!!! I can imagine what my husband was feeling at that moment while his dream was finally becoming true right before his very eyes. Im so thankful for that. It was a night to remember and that we will all hold close to our hearts. With all that being said, I want to encourage and tell my husband that he has nothing to be sad about. His dad lived a full life and more importantly prayed the sinners prayer and accepted Jesus as His personal Savior not long ago which is of course the best and most important thing that couldve happened. We will miss him to no end and our hearts will forever have a void when hes gone, however, Don Julio Morales legacy will live in each and everyone of those who knew him. So glad we have these pix of him. I love you, honey. Robert Morales
