TRIG acquires three solar farms totalling 56.6MW The Renewable Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has acquired three solar farms in Dorset, Norfolk and Cornwall for an aggregate valuation of £73.7 million. The new solar farms take TRIG’s investment portfolio to 27 projects totalling almost 400MW of capacity. PV now represents 41% of its portfolio. TRIG states that the transaction was funded via a combination of funds from existing cash resources and the group’s acquisition facility. Commenting on the projects, Richard Crawford of InfraRed Capital Partners, TRIGs investment manager, said: These three large scale solar projects nearly double the generating capacity of TRIGs solar PV portfolio. Solar now accounts for in excess of one third of the Groups investments by value, up from 10% at IPO, providing investors with good exposure to the two well-established and complementary technologies of onshore wind and solar PV. The acquired projects consist of a 24.2MW plant at Parley Court Farm, Dorset, a 21.2MW plant at Egmere Airfield, Norfolk; and an 11.1MW plant at Penare Farm, Cornwall. The projects were constructed by Isolux Corsán and use modules supplied by Chinese manufacturer ReneSola. All three projects were connected in time to receive ROC accreditation at 1.6ROCs per MWh.
