TROOP F - HOULTON Maine State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident in Easton at approximately 1500 hrs this afternoon. A horse drawn buggy was traveling southbound on Rt 1A when a southbound car struck the buggy, pushing it off the road onto a lawn. The 16 yr. old male operator of the buggy was thrown but did not sustain any injuries. The buggy was destroyed by the impact and the horse was not injured in the crash. Indications are that the vehicle is possibly a newer style Volkswagen, black in color and will have front end damage. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Tr. Jill Monahan at the Maine State Police Barracks in Houlton at 207-532-5400.
