TRUE OR FALSE? The gazebo in the park is going to be removed, and the city is putting in an amphitheater in the square. FALSE. The gazebo in the Veterans Memorial Park is not going anywhere! Three years ago, an architect and engineering firm drew a master plan for the downtown. They gave us three different drawings. The city met in public meetings with business owners and citizens numerous times to decide what they wanted the city to implement from each plan, and the best from each plan was combined into a master plan. The master plan is a living document - it is not set in stone and continues to change with each downtown development. It simply serves as a guide. On the master plan the gazebo is larger and there is an amphitheater, but those who were meeting chose not to make those changes, and it was decided to leave the gazebo and eliminate the amphitheater in the Veterans Memorial Park. However, if we change the original drawings everytime we make changes, it can get expensive. TRUE OR FALSE? There is going to be less parking on Waldren Street. FALSE. There are actually going to be 10 more parking spaces on Waldren Street. Before we begin any infrastructure projects in the downtown, we meet with the business owners to get their input, and make any necessary and reasonable changes in order to meet their needs to ensure the project will provide the most favorable environment for their business success.
