TRULY, HISTORY WAS MADE BY JONATHANS DECLARATION Goodluck - TopicsExpress

TRULY, HISTORY WAS MADE BY JONATHANS DECLARATION Goodluck Jonathan became the 1st President in the world to declare for 2nd term amidst series of negative events which in other parts of the world would lead to resignation and not declaration. Fellow Nigerians, on 11/11/2014, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan declared for a second (or third) term in office. This declaration has been hailed by the Presidency ad history-making. We agree with the Presidency that this declaration is indeed history-making, and we hereby adduce 10 reasons in support of the assertion: 1. Barely 24 hours to President Jonathans declaration, 47 young Secondary School students were murdered in cold blood and President Jonathan still went ahead to declare for 2nd term... What other country in the world will a president declare for 2nd term? 2. President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigerias Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces declared his candidacy against the backdrop of over 250 young girls that were abducted in Chibok since April 14th, 2014 by the Book Haram insurgents... What other country in the world will any leader declare for 2nd term after failing to #BringBackOurGirll? 3. Over 13,000 Nigerians killed by Book Haram in five years, 300,000 Nigerians displaced, 21 Local Governments with landmass of over 21,545 sq. km of our sovereign territory lost to insurgency and thousands of women, children (boys & girls) and men abducted, thousands of Nigerian citizens being refugees in Cameroon, Chad and Niger and thousands of IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons)... What other president or leader in the world will declare for 2nd term amidst all these? 4. Over N$20Billion (N3.2Trillion) went missing (or stolen) from the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) presided over by a Minister (Diazeni Allison Madueke) who blew N10Billion on private jet. The Forensic Audit Report has not been released. After all, for Jonathan as he once said: Stealing is not Corruption. ... What other country will a leader that has failed to be accountable declare for 2nd term? 5. President Jonathan is indeed making history by being the 1st Nigerian President since the civil war to have America, UK and other world powers decline to sell military hardware to Nigeria due to corruption and killing of its citizens... What other elected President in the world will seek 2nd term having lost public trust at home and abroad? 6. Lets not forget this, President Jonathan once said: If Im voted into power, within the next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years is enough for anyone in power to make a significant improvement and if I cant improve on power within this period, it then means I cannot do anything... Here we are after six years and over N553Billion spent on power. Studies have shown that Nigerians only receive about four to six hours of electricity supply each day, and spend over N796.4Billion annually to fuel their home generators (CREDC Report). The President has failed to deliver and cannot deliver. President Jonathan has said if he cant fix power, he cant do anything, with this failure, where else in the world will he run for 2nd term? 7. President Goodluck Jonathan declared his candidacy for 2nd term on 11/11/2014 with no one having been prosecuted or jailed for the over N1.3Trillion fuel subsidy fraud, and no investigation on the $1.1Billion Malabu Oil deal, its been corruption galore under this president and still shamelessly said in his declaration.. I will tackle corruption... Where else in the world will he run for 2nd term? 8. In the Corruption Perception Index 2013, published by the Transparency International, under the leadership of President Jonathan, Nigeria plunged further from 137th to 144th out of 177 countries surveyed in 2012. With this record, where else in the world will the President want to run for a 2nd term? 9. The outright disobedience of court orders and subversion of the Constitution as evident in the hurried removal of the security details attached to [truncated by WhatsApp]
