Local; 1) OUR LAST ENEMY are ready to unleash their latest project ENGINEERING THE ENEMY which features remixes of their songs by such notable names as Mortiis (ex Emperor), Travis Neal (Divine Heresy), Angel (Dope/Team Cybergeist) Dismantled, Angelspit and Beano (The Berzerker) OUR LAST ENEMY will be playing with ROME the new band for members of The Berzerker/Devolved at the Bald Faced Stag in Sydney on Saturday, September 21. They will also be playing Black Cherry Halloween at the Factory Theatre in Sydney on Saturday, October 26. International; 2) Legendary American thrashers OVERKILL have announced they have entered the studio to begin tracking their next studio album due out sometime next year. OVERKILL will also be appearing at ‘’The Battle Of San Bernardino“ in California on September 13, supporting IRON MAIDEN, MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX and SABATON, before hitting North American in December with German thrash titans KREATOR for an extensive co-headlining run. 3) Swiss Folk Metal act ELUVEITIE have officially confirmed that they are working on a new record. Over a year has passed since the last album “Helvetios” was released. Currently the band is fully focused on the follow-up with work on their seventh studio album already at full force, both conceptionally and in song writing. 4) ASHES OF ARES featuring Matt Barlow (ex-ICED EARTH), Van Williams (ex-NEVERMORE) and Freddie Vidales (ex-ICED EARTH) have released their self-titled debut album on September 6th. Recently ASHES OF ARES were shooting their first video clip for the new track “This Is My Hell”. 5) Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA celebrated their 10th anniversary with a one night only event, dubbed ‘’Retrospect’’. The band was accompanied by the seventy piece Chamber Orchestra playing a 3 hour best of set. EPICA will release ‘’Retrospect’’ on CD, DVD and Blu Ray in November. 6) From our neighbouring country, Indonesia, the most successful metal act to come out of the island of Bali, REZUME will release their debut cd “Fragment Of Blessedness Spermicide”, in Australia. REZUME are playing two shows in Melbourne and Perth this weekend. New Tour Announcements; 7) The Greek masters of extremity, ROTTING CHRIST are coming back our way in January.
