TUBERCULOSIES JOSHUAS CHURCH COLLAPES.HAANA KURATIDZWA NOMWEYA:: A massive six storey building used as a guest house within the premises of controversial Lagos Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue church in the Ikotun Egbe suburb of the state has collapsed killing at least 20 members of the church with 25 others including children critically injured. The building was said to have caved in at about 2pm local time following attempts by the church to put another floor on the already over burdened structure originally designed as a two storey building. Residents in the neighbourhood and journalists who thronged the area were chased away by members of the church backed by policemen attached to the church. Though the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA confirmed the casualty figure of 16, the church at a media briefing however denied any death. Security sources involved in the rescue operation however told iReports-ng that no fewer than 20 corpses have been moved to the morgues of the State General Hospitals in Isolo and Igando while those already rescued alive but in critical condition have been admitted to the emergency wards of the hospitals. Members of the church who spoke in hushed tones admitted that the collapsed building has been serving as a guest house for foreign guests and other VIPs visiting the church for prayers.
