TURNING OVER TABLES MOMENT!: Recently disturbed by peoples willingness to accept anything that is spoken by a pastor without regard to its Biblical accuracy. One article in particular, which contains content 100% opposed to Scripture, is currently being widely circulated and praised on the basis that it came from a pastor. The article deals with a controversial subject and uses lots of beautiful, Christiany words like love, unconditional, and acceptance, and over all manages to make a very ugly subject...palatable. People read it and sigh in relief, thinking, maybe I wont have to change the way I live after all. Problem: The articles premise is based purely on fiction and smooths over sin, leaving people to drown in their own darkness rather than finding the freedom Christ paid for on the cross. Where I come from, that is not called love, that is called selfishness and hate. NEWS FLASH: God came to CHANGE us, not leave us where He found us. Truth is not always easy but it is GOOD. Shepherds and teachers, there is a reason you are going to be judged more harshly than your sheep. But PLEASE remember flock, you are responsible for seeking out and validating Truth in the Word of God for yourselves. If a pastor says something contrary to Scripture, then that pastor is WRONG, period. Gods word ALWAYS trumps the word and positions given by men. If your pastor isnt preaching the undiluted word, get a new one. Thankful for my pastors who are dedicated to preaching the Word of God even when it moves the listener out of their comfort zones.
