TVS Draken 250cc: First Look, Images & Specifications Have you ever wondered what the Draken was? In ancient Greek mythology, the Draken was a hundred headed dragon armed with serrated teeth soaked in fatal poison. A deadly foe, the Draken was a force to be reckoned with. TVS seeks to bring a bit of that imagery to mind with their latest bike: The TVS Draken and they’ve nailed it. Donning a name as fearful as the Draken, the new bike definitely lives upto the reputation of its namesake. The Draken looks to be a naked sports bike simiar to the 200NS or the KTM 200. The engine is a 250cc, 4 valve, DOHC unit which is mated to a six speed gearbox. The liquid cooled engine has a very unique exhaust system. The exhaust tip is at the front and is in close proximity with the engine unit. However the exhaust tip is strategically placed away from the rider’s foot. TVS calls this system a high performance reverse free flow exhaust system. The bike produces 38.5 HP at 12000 RPM and 23 Nm of torque. Mileage is a reasonable 33.3 kmpl. The Draken weighs in at a mere 134 kgs and comes with a ten litre fuel tank. What differentiates TVS’ new bike from their current gen models is its design. A radical change from the conventional commuter bike look, the Draken dons a far more aggressive purpose built body. Draped in white with strong gold coloured framework, the Draken looks menacing from every angle. Unlike usual bikes, the Draken does not come with a wind shield, however this is a concept model and if the bike does go into production, it will most likely include the customary windshield. The instrument cluster is all digital. he suspension setup is reminiscent of the Kawasaki Ninja 650. The bike has a wheelbase of 1340 mm and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.
