TVWAN aims to revolutionize free-air-air TV: CEO TVWAN aims to revolutionize free-air-air television in Papua New Guinea with commitments to developing quality local programs celebrating PNG culture, PNG people, and most importantly, PNG stories. Chief executive officer (CEO) of Digicel PNG, John Mangos, reveals at the launch of its new Digicel Play TV at the Laguna Hotel in Port Moresby this evening when addressing Ministers, Members of Parliament and distinguished guess. “Welcome to a preview of Digicel Play, Papua New Guinea’s newest TV provider. Digicel Play will offer 29 channels in total, including a first class locally produced free-to-view channel called TVWAN, plus 28 additional channels. “We approach TV with the same ethos that has driven Digicel to strive to bring world class communications services to developing markets around the world. Access to affordable technology can create change,” says Mr Mangos. The Digicel CEO says when they entered the PNG market, very few people had access to mobile phones. He says today it is unusual to find a person without access to communications, thanks to the Digicel network and our belief in the simple idea that all people should have access to first world communications technology.
