TWO AUGUSTS I WANT TO REMEMBER 1970 living for two weeks near Nice, France, going to the beach at 3 pm and then having dinner at 8 pm in the port, eating the best fish soup I will ever know; and then spending the next two weeks in Paris, waiting for a french host family from Nantes to come and fetch me. 1971 living at the beach in Brittany and sailing every day; fish and seafood were cheap; I ate well. An August I cant forget: 1983 Sitting on the tarmac in Glasgow waiting to see if our very full flight to Chicago would ever take off (remember RR firing union air controllers and putting amateurs into their seats? ) we did leave about five hours late; we spent a lot of time over Canada and then in Lander, drinking Scottish ale, and finally landing in Toronto, not really knowing IF one might ever arrive in Chicago... AUGUSTS I can forget most involve going back to school Someday, I will know what not going back to school feels like; I wonder how I will fee.
