TWO BURGALERS DETAINED. At 3:30am a call came from a resident on Egerton Road, Hale stating that someone had just put a pole with a hook through the letterbox, the occupant managed to grab the pole and saw a male making off on a pedal cycle. Police responded quickly and police dogs tracked the bikes to a driveway on Hermitage Road, Hale, where two pedal cycles where found abandoned. On speaking to the occupants of this house it was confirmed there had been a break in; a laptop and Iphone had been taken. Entry had been gained via an insecure ground floor window. Police searched the area and tracked the Iphone to Navigation Road Rail Station. Two males were found there and in possession of stolen items including the laptop and Iphone. Both males have been arrested for burglary and are now in Custody. Update to follow.
