TWO DAYS LEFT- HAVE YOU GOT YOURS??? CHEESE FUNDRAISER TO HELP OUT MASSEY YOUNGSTER: Chelsey Lachance is hosting a fundraiser for her cousin, Emily Rose Richer of Massey. She explains: “My cousin Emily was born on February 2, 2003 with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome, a neurological disorder that affects 1 in 50,000 children. Her brain doesnt tell her to breathe when she falls into a deep sleep, so she needs equipment to help keep her breathing. Emily is trached, blind and developmentally delayed, as well as having numerous other medical issues. She is 11 years old and still like a newborn.” Emily’s parents, Julien and Lisa, make medical trips to appointments, most of which are at Health Sciences North in Sudbury and to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto at least once a year, which is expensive as they have to stay in a motel, not to mention gas, food etc. Although a lot of Emilys supplies and equipment are covered to an extent, there are some that are not covered by any type of funding. Chelsey is raising funds for Emily and her family to help offset those expenses and help them save for any other equipment Emily may need in the future.
