TX - !!Please Read!! This information could save your life!- We are praying for our LEO first responder friends in Texas, specially in the Dallas area. This is David posting this & I have been a biochemist for 20 years working in the infectious disease area for a lot of those. EBOLA is BioSafety Level 4 pathogen and one of the most dangerous viruses known to man. Its extremely contagious only 10 organisms by aerosol exposure and your infected(literature source link at the bottom)! To put that in perspective it takes 65,000 HIV organisms for infection. The CDC says its not airborne but this is misleading as the virus can float on aerosols. Aerosols are water particles that the virus can stay suspended for an unknown time and distance. You breath aerosols as they are mixed with air. Remember only 10 organisms to be infected, millions of aerosolized Ebola virions can stick to water droplets! Aerosols are produced by, breathing, sneezing, vomit, feces, passing gas, blood splatter from gun shot wounds (I wouldnt have mentioned this but for LEO its relevant). The CDC scientist use much more PPE and decontamination procedures than what their protocols for hospitals and first responders recommend. Animals can get this - yes dogs, cats, deer, rodents, raccoons and food supply farm animals, some get sick and die, some only spread it but show no symptoms. Recent studies show the African fruit bat is a carrier for this virus. Bottom line- Use extreme caution in the field, ask questions and demand answers, educate yourself. Make sure your agency is planned and ready if not its suicide. Remember you can be exposed and infect your whole family! Stay safe out there - God Bless Texas and God Bless the USA! phac-aspc.gc.ca/lab-bio/res/psds-ftss/ebola-eng.php
