Tabbaliyu neenade magane(1977) is a brilliant piece of cinema that definitely requires two viewings. Not because the story line is complex, but because it is hard to pick up on the little nuances that run parallel to each other. (Seemingly) Dormant motifs and metaphors slowly surface over the obvious celluloid canvas during the last 40- 45 minutes. That is when youll be kicking yourself for not paying closer attention to the not-so-interesting mid portion of the movie. Watching it a second time must be interesting, knowing what to look out for.
