Tackling insecurity, my biggest challenge, - Sen. Pawajok THE Senator Representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Gyang Pwajok has said that one of his greatest challenges in office in the last one year is how to address prevailing challenges in the Northern part of Plateau State. The senator stated this during an interactive session with Journalists to mark his one year in office. He said security challenges he inherited propelled him to take the bull by the horn and work towards the return of peace to the troubled parts in collaboration with various community and religious leaders. In his words Northern Senatorial zone is a hot bed of Plateau politics and Nigeria at large and for me as a young man to be representing the zone, I feel highly honoured. The peace we are enjoying is a combine effort, I thank God for the calmness we are experiencing now, he said. The legislator stressed that in the last one year, he has organised series of security meetings geared towards arresting the circle of violence in the state, visited families of innocent people who have been attack and killed in night raids, visit and present assorted materials to those in the prison, beside his constitutional responsibility of good legislation to the people of the zone. Pwajok added that he has toured the six local governments that make up the zone to interact in other to know their needs and challenges and to see how he can help address them to the best of his ability. As part of the efforts to sustain the prevailing peace, Senator Pwajok said Peace Basketball Tournament we organized for basketball teams in the senatorial zone adding that the purpose of the competition was to share the message of peace tolerance and mutual respect among youths in the zone. Senior Pwajok further pointed out that he equally visited Jos prison and donated assorted materials and pledged to support the improvement of the prison schools, library and skill acquisition centre adding that a town hall which will have various vocational units will also be completed in 2014.
