Take a moment and look out the window. Better yet, go outside. What do you see? The trees gently swaying in the cool morning air, leaves falling gently to the ground, and the sky is a mixed with clouds. What a picture! How wonderful is the world that our God created! The beautiful images, colors, and sounds help us to appreciate all that He has done for us. Gods brilliant craftsmanship took only 6 days, and He rested on the 7th day, perhaps a bit tired but enjoying his heavenly handiwork. But why dont we do the same thing? I know our modern work schedules are no longer 40 hour weeks from Mondays to Fridays, and I understand that. Yet we dont get out into the world and enjoy what God created for us. Or, we take it for granted because we have a list of seemingly more important things to do. Friends, take time to get out. Unplug, disconnect yourselves from the world for a little while. Walk through the woods and hear the rustling leaves. Stop and listen to the animals, birds, and anything else you might hear. Close your eyes and let your senses take over. Most of all, take time in prayer to let God know just how thankful you are for his wonderful creation. Gratitude is a great thing, but sometimes we dont show it enough. Today, and every day, let God know how thankful and blessed you really are. And while youre at it, let your spouse, partner, family, and friends know it, too. Amen. ~John Lloyd~
