Take heed. This could cost you a bundle. Two words that could cost you thousands: If you are a Medicare patient at a Hospital or Therapy Center, read the FINE PRINT before you sign any papers. There is wording that says that you are either an Inpatient or Under Observation. If the wording in the form states that you are entering the facility Under Observation you will wind up paying for any length of stay in Rehab upon discharge from the hospital. The wording on the form must state that you are an Inpatient in order for Medicare to pay the Rehab bill. This was an NBC news broadcast on January 9th, 2014.
