Taking concern of the general public, farmers and small businessmen who are to pay exorbitant cargo charges for carrying their essential items from one island to other in the ships run by the AN Administration, the PCC chief Kuldeep Rai Sharma has written a letter to the Lt Governor wherein he has stated that the freight charges of MV SAMSUN fixed by the AN Administration is at the higher side than that of the freight charges of various items being charged by the private boats plying in between Port Blair to Southern group of islands and other islands too. Apart from this, Kuldeep has also drawn the attention of the Lt Governor that the freight charges fixed by the AN Administration in other ships/boats run by the Administration, are also irking the general farmers, public and other small businessmen. Hence the President has requested the Administrator to kindly review the freight charges fixed by the AN Administration for various items in the ships of AN Administration and consider reducing the freight charges in MV SAMSUN and also in other ships of AN Administration which are bearable by the poor farmers, small businessman and general public as a welfare measure for the islanders
