“Talking Justice, Talking War” series in Helena --- Save the dates July 8, 11, 18 for Helena Service for Peace and Justice’s “Talking Justice, Talking War” series -- a lecture/dialogue series on war and militarism. • July 8 – Dr. Jake Donaldson, Our Longest War: The Impact of America’s War on Terror in Afghanistan (just back from Afghanistan with Kathy Kelly and Voices for Creative Nonviolence ; formerly of Helena, now working as a doctor in California) • • July 8 – at St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral, 7pm (preceded by 6pm Helena SERPAJ business meeting and supper ) • July 11 – Rev. Sam Smith, The Militarization of American Youth and the “I Will NOT Kill” Campaign (Chair of the Chicago Chapter of the FOR, Fellowship of Reconciliation, ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren, one of the historic peace churches) • • July 11 – at St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral, 7pm • July 18 – Johnny Barber, A Conversation on Gaza (Member of Voices for Creative Nonviolence; Barber has traveled to try to make peace in wars zones such as Palestine (the West Bank and Gaza), Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan — going as he said, “to bear witness and document the suffering of people who are affected by war.
