Talking to a friend recently who was trying to get me to go to church. They suggested that my denial of, and the lack of acceptance of the idea of the existence of the Christian God was juvenile in thought and I would probably by more suited to the youth section of the church as the more mature thinking members of this church already accepts the existence of God. Lets say that my lack of belief/acceptance in the existence of God is a reflection of my maturity and level of thinking, then I am absolutely childish when it comes to fairies, pixies and goblins. It is not childish for me to reject ideas that I see no evidence for. In fact, its the complete opposite. When growing up, before critical thinking developed in the young mind, you tend to believe without evidence, without analyzing the information presented, everything those you look up to ( both literally and figuratively). That is why if you have been exposed to the idea of Santa Claus, you would tend to believe in such until you are able to deduce that a man can not travel the entire globe and in one night, visit every child to give presents. It is the same with the idea of God. Critical thinking, honest analyst of what you believe are not juvenile thinking, but a sign of a very mature mind.
