Talking with a friend of mine who agreed to long-term foster a dog from a rescue local to her, who claimed he had no issues and was a stable dog. The dog has since displayed extreme separation anxiety, which has lead to complaints from neighbors and police visits, and has bitten, twice. She knows that shes just not set up for the work shed need to do with such a troubled dog, and now she has to return him to the rescue at great personal financial and emotional cost. The rescue effectively lied to her and set her up to fail, and now both she and the dog are suffering for it. It got me to thinking, how many other people have stories like this? Is misrepresentation of a dogs fear issues common?
