Tamworth Strongest Man/Woman. It was months in the making, countless hours of planning between Myself and Phil Burgess. Hours of meetings with the media, council and with insurance companies, going back and forth. Athletes began to show interest, and the momentum stared to build. Steve harris, Ben Simpson and Mike Jones of Harris Stability Systems joined the show with major prizes and guest appearances.. A fan to flame of this show in Tamworth bringing things alight! Friday Morning saw me wake up at 3:30 am to head to Strength Warehouse to train my womens group. From there on i went straight to the street with 4 ute loads and over a tonne of equipment to set the battlegrounds up for the day. The rain hit us just we were to begin, and the crowds dispersed. But this day was going ahead, rain, hail or shine. Over 20 competitors from Tamworth, Sydney, Canberra, Central Coast, Coffs Harbour, Singleton and more, Arrived in Tamworth ready to do battle and to test themselves. Crowds piled in and Cheers were bellowing far and wide in peel street for all to hear. When the time came to pull the truck, the street divided and a wall of supporters was formed to witness athletes pull a 10 tonne truck and a 4 tonne Hummer. At times the cheers were deafening as the athletes fought to cross that LAST. FEW. STEPS. A comp like this changes people. I saw it in their faces and i FELT it when i grabbed their hands in celebration afterward. I am so Proud of everyone who competed, especially to all my clients and members of STRENGTH WAREHOUSE. This IS only the beginning and Im excited for what the future holds. Thanks to our Sponsors and thanks to Phil Burgess. Friday was a powerful day. Eli.
