Tangata gets confidence boost: National kickboxing champion, Brighton Tangata says winning a silver medal at the Great North 3 Kickboxing Championship in South Africa last week boosted his confidence as he continues with preparations for the world championships slated for Turkey next month. The international arena has always been a good hunting ground for Tangata, who has represented the nation with distinction on many occasions. With the world championships scheduled for Turkey next month fast approaching, Tangata last week used the Great North 3 Tournament in South Africa to gauge his progress ahead of the global kickboxing showcase. The national champion as expected did not disappoint, after winning a silver medal. The distinguished kickboxer says finishing second was a big moral booster as the world championship draws nearer. Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association President, Tony Kamangira hailed Tangata as the ultimate fighter who is set to fly the country’s flag high at the world championships. Tangata has won numerous accolades on the international stage. Last year, he won a bronze medal at the kickboxing World Cup in Brazil. Recently, he won a gold medal at the Libreville Kickboxing Championship in Gabon, in addition to the numerous medals he has won in international competitions. Much is therefore expected from Tangata when he takes part at the World Kickboxing Championships in Turkey next month.
