Tanima Sahoo asked to see a picture of Kapoor Tulsi, the name of which is a misnomer. This plant is supposed to smell like camphor, but to me it smells like a combination of Tulasi and Juicy Fruit chewing gum. I do not refer to this plant with a personal pronoun--just it. I grew this basil out of curiosity because it was advertised as Tulsi, but not only are its leaves different, it does not behave like Tulasi Devi. It tolerates frost much better, so it cannot be ocimum sanctum. I have tried to identify it as Ocimum kilimandscharicum, but it is difficult to determine. I have heard it grows outdoors in Oregon, so how could it be Tulasi Devi? However, it is a very nice plant and there should be no reason it could not be offered in puja. But if anyone offers puja TO IT, that would be a mistake.
