Tara was quite badly traumatised when we rescued her from the shelter in 2007, when she was less than a year old. She was very anxious about many things, and absolutely terrified of water! She would have a major panic attack if she saw any of us going swimming in the sea, but then she discovered how much fun it is to swim a couple of years ago and never looked back! Walking with her off the lead was also something I never imagined she would be able to do as she was always so erratic when outdoors - she found it very difficult to focus her attention on one thing for more than a moment... Living with Tara hasnt always been easy - she chewed up many of our belongings including a double bed, sofa, clothes, toys and even ripped the wallpaper off the walls, and despite her intelligence, she persisted to go to the toilet INDOORS numerous times a day, every day for years. Her rehabilitation was tough and I didnt know if I had it in me at times to stick with it. She is definitely a colourful character though, and she has made a pretty epic transformation throughout the years. I cant imagine life without her now. Such a good friend.
