Tarawih ten or twenty rakahs In the name of Allah, We praise Him, - TopicsExpress

Tarawih ten or twenty rakahs In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. Firstly, there is absolutely no difference between the men and the women regarding the performance of the optional and voluntary Sunnah prayers of Taraweeh in Ramadan. Secondly, the ‘Tarawih’ prayers of Ramadan are not obligatory, but they are considered Sunnah or optional prayers; thus if one offers them, one will earn a huge reward for their worship, and if for any reason one does not pray them, there is no sin. Abu Hurairah reports that the Prophet (saws) would encourage people to perform the special night prayers during Ramadan (tarawih) without commanding them as obligatory and he (saws) said: "Whoever prays during the nights of Ramadan [tarawih] with a firm belief and hoping for reward, all of his previous sins would be forgiven."
