Target-news- ගාල්ල - මාතර අධිවේගී මාර්ගය ඇමැති බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ ගේ ___________නිරීක්ෂණයට Minister Basil Rajapaksa on inspection tour Galle-Matara Expressway opens on March 15 එළඹෙන 15 දා විවෘත කිරීමට නියමිත ගාල්ල - මාතර අධිවේගී මාර්ගය ආර්ථික සංවර්ධන ඇමැති බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ නිරීක්ෂණයට ලක්වෙයි. ගාල්ල, පින්නදූව සිට මාතර, ගොඩගම දක්වා ඉදිකරන ලද කිලෝමීටර් 31කින් යුත් අධිවේගී මාර්ගය මේ මස 15දා විවෘත කිරීමට නියමිත අතර එහි වත්මන් තත්ත්වය සොයා බැලීම සඳහා ඇමැතිවරයා එහි නිරීක්ෂණ චාරිකාවක නිරත විය. ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ මඟ පෙන්වීම යටතේ මහාමාර්ග අමාත්‍යාංශය මඟින් දේශීය ඉංජිනේරුවන්ගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් ඉදිකිරීම් ආරම්භ කළ මෙම අධිවේගී මාර්ගය තුළින් මාතර සිට කඩුවෙල දක්වා පැය එක හමාරකින් ළඟාවීමට අවස්ථාව උදාවන අතර මාර්ගවල උපරිම වේග සීමාව පැයට කිලෝමීටර් 100ක් බව ආර්ථික සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යාංශය පවසයි. අධිවේගී මාර්ගයේ නිරීක්ෂණ චාරිකාවේ නිරතවීමෙන් අනතුරුව ඇමැති බැසිල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා සඳහන් කළේ අධිවේගී මාර්ග නිමකර යාකළ පසු කටුනායක සිට හම්බන්තොට දක්වාම එක් මාර්ගයක් බවට පත්වන බවත් එම අධිවේගි මාර්ගය ගම්පහ, කොළඹ, කළුතර, ගාල්ල, මාතර සහ හම්බන්තොට යන දිස්ත්‍රික්ක හරහා ගමන් කරන බවත්ය. Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa on Saturday inspected the 31 kilometre Galle-Matara Expressway to be opened on March 15. The road begins from Pinnaduwa, Galle and ends at Godagama, Matara. The new road constructed by local engineers under the Highways Ministry’s direction on the advice of President Mahinda Rajapaksa will make it possible for travellers to reach Kaduwela from Matara in one-and-a-half-hours. The maximum speed is 100 kmh. Following the inspection Minister Rajapaksa said that after completion the Kaduwela-Galle and Galle-Matara Expressways will become one expressway from Katunayake to Hambantota via the Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts by the middle of this year. The objective of these constructions is to reduce traffic congestion in the Western Province and encourage the development of highly populated urban areas in the Western Province. The volume of vehicular traffic in these areas is around two million per day and most of them are compelled to move via Colombo city due to lack of alternative roads.z_p06-Galle02.jpg Starting from the Kottawa entry point the 11km-long first section of the Colombo Outer Circular Expressway is scheduled to be completed in three stages. The first section was completed and opened on March 8. The second and third stages of this highway are expected to be completed by 2017. It will connect the Kaduwela-Kadawatha and Kadawatha-Kerawalapitiya stretches. Work on extending the expressway from Matara to Hambantota is scheduled to begin in June. Work on the Northern Expressway has already begun and its first stage will be from Enderamulla to Ambepussa, the second stage from Meerigama to Pallandeniya and the third from Ambepussa to Kandy. Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama, Parliamentarians Dr. Ramesh Pathirana and Manusha Nanayakkara, Highways Ministry Secretary Ranjit Premasiri and a number of senior officials participated in the inspection tour.
