Targets of bullying are at risk of additional trauma due inadequate systems. Any or all i.e; HR, Union, Insurance Companies, Medical Teams can create further damages & costs to society. Without this the existing systems in place could eat people alive. The risk of experiencing more even trauma via the inadequate processes of i.e. HR, Insurance Companies, Unions, Medical experts, is very high. We have a long way to go for legislation/policies and procedures to become adequate for targets. So how does a person commit to recovery? They decide to place their health, safety and wellness as number one. Most targets will relate to becoming somewhat consumed (almost obsessed) with seeking justice. This is normal as people try to survive and make sense of things that feel unjust. However, people can become lost in the congestion of emotional and psychological turmoil caused by being bullied, and in addition, by facing numerous systems that do not support them. This congestion makes it difficult for targets to even imagine other options and/or make a plan around strategic steps. Targets need to seek out a professional who is either accredited or demonstrates lengthy training and experience in addressing Work Place Bullying issues. Targets have suffered more than enough and deserve qualified resources.
