Tuesday 24 June Showers about the Bass Strait Islands and possibly near the north and west coasts, increasing about the western half of the state in the afternoon and early evening, with isolated showers then extending to the remainder. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly winds, lighter in most areas for a period later in the morning. Weather Situation A cold front will clear the east coast of Tasmania later in the evening. A complex area of low pressure to the southwest of the state will move slowly to the southeast on Tuesday with a small secondary low expected to pass near King Island and through northern Bass Strait during the morning. A trough will then move past the state during the evening with west to southwesterly flow to follow. This flow should then turn northwesterly during Wednesday as another cold front approaches from the west. This front is expected to cross the state early on Thursday as a low passes to the south. A narrow high pressure ridge is then expected to approach from the west later in the day before cross in the state early on Friday.
