The high to the east will weaken today while the high to the west moves slowly closer to the southwest of Tasmania. A cold front will brush the south of Tasmania this afternoon. The high will move only very slowly southeastwards on Wednesday as a low develops to the northeast of the state, with winds tending southeasterly. The high will move to the south of Tasmania on Thursday and remain there on Friday, with southeasterly winds persisting as the low strengthens to the northeast and becomes very slow moving.
