Tasmania Forecast Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Cloud increasing with patchy rain developing about the west during the afternoon and extending to central and southern areas late evening. Cold to very cold at first, with areas of frost, then a cool day. Light winds tending moderate northwesterly then becoming fresh about the southwest. Weather Situation A high pressure system will pass north of Tasmania Wednesday morning then move to the northeast later in the day as a warm front crosses the state. A cold front will cross Tasmania later Thursday and early Friday, with a southwesterly flow in its wake, while another front will weaken near the south of the state late Friday.
