Tasmanian Regional Arts commences strategic review TRA is delighted to announce the Emeritus Professor Peter Matthews has been contracted to undertake TRA’s strategic review TRA’s Strategic Review has been initiated in order to assess current activities and new opportunities open to the organisation in order to meet the ever changing needs of our regional communities. Professor Matthews has been secured by Tasmanian Regional Arts in order to bring external, high level expertise and guidance to the task of setting TRA’s new directions. Peter will undertake a series of face to face consultation sessions around Tasmania, commencing in early February. Peter is keen to hear from TRA members, artists and arts organisations that TRA has worked alongside, and others engaged in regional community, economic or educational developments whose input will be vital to setting new directions for TRA. As well as face to face sessions, Peter will also conduct a series of interviews and is calling for written submissions from the community. The review process is financially supported by the Tasmanian Government through Arts Tasmania and is designed to assist TRA move towards a more sustainable business model in 2015. Times, dates and venues for the face to face sessions are currently being finalised and will be circulated widely in the near future. At this stage the initial consultation sessions will take place around Tasmania between 1-9 February, with follow up conversations in March.
