Tavis Smilety was live on C-Span promoing his book Death Of A King. After a couple of long drawn out uninterupted questions from other callers, I called, and got cut off. I asked Tavis what he thought of the Kings successful civil suit finding the FBI and US government guilty of Kings murder, and why didnt Blacks take to the streets in the numbers they did in the Garland killing? The startled ofay Host reached for the cutoff button, but I added, And Tavis why havent rich, prominent Black Artists like Oprah and Spike Lee made a film about the greatest Black American Artist and Activist in our history, Paul Robeson? Whitey couldnt get rid of this caller fast enough. Tavis, to his credit answered honestly and passionatelt that he believes the government did in King, and did everything to destroy the powerful voice and life if his hero, Paul Robeson! God, I hope C-Span has become another self-castrating waterboy for the government!!
