Taylor Barry posts, in response to my wish to ask to be hosted by a Muslim community for prayer and service in atoning for the loss of our children in Gaza, in a mosque on the Friday before Yom Kippur -- and dedicating our fast to those lost children -- This is beautiful, and I will definitely be following suit in California on Yom Kippur. Hey -- a movement! Can I ask all American Jews who want to stand in witness and atonement for the suffering of children in Gaza - and to work peace not talk peace as my Rabbi said -- across the nation, that you ask to be hosted by a Muslim community for prayer that Friday before Yom Kippur - and offer service --- anything that could be useful -- offer to watch kids, prepare food, tidy community spaces, sit with the elderly…ask to be taken into the community for Friday before Yom Kippur as brothers and sisters in atonement and prayer….see what happens. From what I know of the kindness and goodwill of this community, very beautiful things will happen. And it may be your most meaningful Yom Kippur ever….
