*Tea Party politician Paul Gosar (R-AZ),Yes, I voted to shutdown the government, but it didnt include the national parks! *Hes so out of touch with reality that he cant see that when he voted to shut the federal government down, it included every part of it. When he and his tea party friends in the House voted to shut down the government, all Pres. Obama could do was carry out their wishes. If he hadnt, theyd have been dissatisfied, and since he did, theyre still dissatisfied. Closing the national parks and other federal facilities was to prevent the federal government from being sued should someone have been injured/killed while visiting one of them. Since the government was shut down, money to defend a lawsuit or pay compensation couldnt be authorized. This isnt rocket science, and these folks need to know that you cannot have things both ways--you cant have a closed federal government and still expect certain parts of it to be open. Im beginning to think that the tea partiers brain cells misfire in a unique way that causes them to do things and then pretend that they had nothing to do with them. Phoenix NT:Gosar has insisted that President Obama himself ordered the shutdown of the parks. There was no sense of irony in the statement Gosar released Wednesday, proudly patting himself on the back for voting against the bill that would end the government shutdown. This is the same Congressman Paul Gosar who has voted on bills throughout the shutdown that he knew damn well would never result in the reopening of the government. Interesting. Believe it or not, the hearings on the park closings didnt result in anyone uncovering a plot of Obama to shut down America because he hates us all. Shucks.
