“Teacher is the one who make human being” Felix TAC NEWS BUREAU ITANAGAR, SEPT 29TH The Ninth General Conference cum Election of Central Executive Committee of Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) was held in the city today with Parliamentary Secretary for Elementary Education Bamang Felix being the chief guest. Speaking with a heavy heart regarding the mushrooming of associations in the education system, Felix said, “what if our children start to creating associations like All Arunachal Class XII Students Association, All Arunachal Class IX Students Association? Then what will be the future of the state? Why do you want to create Arunachal Senior Association, etc... Is it the platform of Arunachal Teachers’ Association not enough to cover the grievances of the teachers community of the state? Please consider this in this conference.” Felix delivered his speech by giving an illustration of himself as a school boy who counted every respect for a teacher. “Though I am the MLA, I never forget to address a teacher as a sir. I have a great respect. Teachers are the most powerful in the society and on this earth. I don’t have words to speak to you. I cannot teach you rather I came here to learn from you”, Felix said. “To be a member of the college teachers association, one must have a post graduate degree but to be a member in the legislative assembly, one may not have seen a school door also. Teachers have more responsibility than the legislators. Teachers begin the world, teachers end the world”, Felix further asserted. While highlighting the interest of every teacher in the state who involves in out-campus activities, Felix said “It is sarcastic that every teacher wanted to come out of the school campus when they are appointed to build human resource in the classroom. Felix asked the teachers who present at the occasion to share and discuss their grievances with the Government. He also clarified that the Government has limitations to deliver justice. Speaking as the Guest of Honour, Director ATI and Secretary General CoSAAP, Pate Marik said, “You are a teacher, you are an agent of the change, the society expects a lot from you.” Marik also recalled the initial days of ATA as a strong association without any breakups. Delegates of ATA from almost every district attended the programme, a Memorandum consisting three prominent demands was submitted to the Parliamentary Secretary. Felix has assured that he will look into the demands shortly.
