Teachers They took all the singers and made them sing the same old - TopicsExpress

Teachers They took all the singers and made them sing the same old song. No one fought this even thou they knew that it was wrong. They took all the musicians and limited them to just one note. They burned all the scores and every song the composers ever wrote. The movie makers were given only one fast frame. Gone now were all the actors and their claim to fame. Painters were given only the color blue. No more shades of red, no tint of green, no yellow hue. Photographers lost their cameras to the crowds mad rush. All the photographs of everyone were lost in the crazy crush. They tied up all the dancers and forced them to just stand still. No more jumping and jiving and twisting and rocking to find a moments thrill. The writers of the world had to write to the same old theme. Books no longer found a way to make the reader laugh or cry or scream. Poets were only allowed to write poems that all could understand or their pencils and pens and keyboards were roughly torn from their shaking hands. All the other artists were locked out in the cold. And the once warm and friendly world grew very, very cold. They made all the teachers teach the same thing, in the same way, and at the same exact time. Forcing many to seek other work even before they’d reached their prime. They standardized all the children, made them wear uniforms to school. What was common to the core was considered to be the rule. Anything or anyone the least bit creative was left out in the hall. The children didn’t like this, and guess what? On the state tests, they didn’t do very well at all. Ken Buescher 2013
