Teachers are one of the most underpaid and under appreciated jobs. I can remember or see my mom and sister Mia Tia Bella up late or on the weekend doing school work. Who else has to work so much offtime and still gets more of a load from school. They have the nerve to add more hours without more pay. They give them hungry, parent-neglected children without adequate resources and then want miracles. Now they are shutting down all these Chicago school to overcrowd and make room for Charter schools. One is retired and the other still working, but props to them. Also, know that Charter school teachers are year to year, easily underpaid, easily fired, have questionable retirement, not protected by the corrupt 2-timing union, and have far less other rights. Unless you give more resources like better academic/test prep like in the suburbs/rich neighborhoods or find ways to encourage proverty striken children, things wont actually change. However, they can keep cycling teachers out to avoid paying raises and retirement. Thanks Rahm Emmaneul.
