Teaching Inclusive Art by Marc Brew & Annika Presley AXIS offers an inspiring movement-based Creative Dance workshop about bringing movement to youth with and without disabilities making it accessible to ALL! During the workshop we will investigate and discuss positive impact as well as the fears teachers might have about teaching dance to kids with disabilities in an integrated environment. We will address different disabilities, and introduce people first language. We will discuss a range of teaching approaches and talk about translation versus adaptation of movement. Through a series of hands-on exercises and assignments we encourage teachers to look at differences as opportunities for creative ideas and solutions, rather than an obstacles.
